One Four Challenge Week 4 – Los Banos

One Four Challenge Week 4 – Los Banos

It’s back to color this week. Starting with the original, I replaced the sky again. Then, working with numerous adjustments to exposure, light, and tonality, I created a more pastel look. I added just a bit of fog at the top of the picture. Then more adjustments in exposure and focus to add a soft focus look. Innumerable adjustments followed to brighten the colors in the sky, soften the clouds, and match sky and land. There were probably more edits in this variation than the first three. My aim overall was to make the image look a bit more like a painting. I’m very satisfied with the result.

Here is a comparison of this week’s image with the original.

Here is a gallery with the original and all four variations thus far.

Next week, a BONUS One Four! May has five weeks. We like to start each new One Four series in a new month. So, rather than skip a week with no One Four, we’re going to do an extra week, a Variation Five! Stay tuned.

  1. That is a lovely soft image Joanne, really effective.

  2. This does feel like a more painterly version of your image Joanne. Very pretty and inviting!
