New Images #28

Continuing to experiment with a variety of both traditional and AI techniques, I have three very distinct images this week. First are these Gerbera Daisy blooms. This started life as a studio closeup photograph. But the colors were too bright (partly due to too much light – shot with a bright ring light), and I couldn’t get them toned to where I liked them. Turning to the AI, I added an overall haze or mist. Then I further edited that back in Luminar Neo. This is the result.

This image was shot while roaming the high desert of northern Arizona. The most striking thing about the image was the dark, almost black, sky heralding a possibly ferocious storm. I used the AI to enhance the appearance of rain while retaining that dark sky. As with the above image, after the AI, I further edited the image in Luminar Neo.

Finally, another photograph that showed promise but was lacking something was this image of a variegated Dahlia bloom. In this case, I instructed the AI to add a bit of fog and darken the overall image. It was a trick to retain the yellow interior petals.

That’s it for this week. Visit again next week (Wednesday/Thursday) for another installment of New Images.
