I’ve been enjoying recently some exceptionally juicy and tasty blackberries – No doubt. imported from South America (Mexico is the world’s largest producer of blackberries); it’s just barely spring here in the Northeast. Blackberries are a summer delicacy. These wonderful berries have inspired me to play with this image this week.
Blackberries are one of the most nutrient dense foods. Bioarcheology and forensic science have established the earliest known human consumption of blackberries at 2,500 years ago. Blackberries often grow wild, especially in Europe. The term ‘bramble’ signifies a thick and nearly impenetrable growth; more often than not, a bramble is a thicket of wild blackberries.
