A while back, I posted a weekly monochrome image on Mondays. I’ve received numerous comments about my monochrome images – and since working on my upcoming book, Light and Shadow, I’ve enjoyed working in black and white more. So I’m going to restart that series of Monday monochromes.

This is the San Gabriel Mountains east of Los Angeles in southern California. I enjoyed traveling through the San Gabriels; I liked their ruggedness and their wildness so close to Los Angeles.

I have also seen many comments from the online photo community about using Lightroom as a primary editor. I did use Lightroom a long time ago. But I found a book on “Photoshop for Lightroom Users,” and that started me in Photoshop, branching off to other editing apps. Since I’m not happy with the way Luminar is going, I thought I’d try Lightroom again. Starting from raw, this image has been edited entirely in Lightroom. I like the results.
