For my Monday Monochrome, I’ve chosen this image of a sculptural work by Jacques Bescond, In Search of the Self. I photographed this in the InSitu Gardens, a remarkable example of garden architecture in Redding, CT. (I will show more images from InSitu at another time.) I was instantly fascinated by this artwork and the artist’s vision behind it. Jaques Bescond has made numerous works in this style, some of them quite large, as well as large. heads. In these he has been inspired by the Moai, or the large heads, of Easter Island.
