Lens Artists Challenge #369 – Dreamscapes

Lens Artists Challenge #369 – Dreamscapes

The challenge this week comes from Ann-Christine, who names her challenge, “Dreamy.” She offers a range of dreamy or dream-like examples. It’s a great post; I think photography is well-suited to depicting dreamscapes both real and imagined. In the feature image above, the sun shines through a hazy avenue of trees, depicting a sanctuary-like enclave in the woods.

A pastoral scene by the lake in summer, a site for dreaming if there ever was one.

Dusk in the backcountry: As night begins to fall, how better to experience one’s dreams than a night in the country under the stars?

Dreams are the landscapes of the mind. Here are a couple of dreamscapes.

Wild Grasses

Wildflowers

Flowers as they might be seen in a dream.

An image titled “Secret Garden.”

Here is something I’ve been working on lately, a chrysanthemum amid the swirl of colors and textures of a dream.

Dreamscapes… Places for dreaming, and landscapes of the mind … My response to Ann-Christine’s Lens Artists Challenge this week.

  4. Some amazing work this week Joanne. I started to mention some favorites but there were just too many. I loved them all. At gunpoint I might be forced to choose the chrysanthemum 😊

    1. Thank you, Tina, for your kind words. I’m so glad you liked them. I’m especially happy about that chrysanthemum; it’s new – I think I will do some more like that.

  5. Very dreamy images Joanne.

  7. A complete dream, your post, Joanne! Every one of them is spectacular. I don’t know how you do this – but I love it. The light, the colours, the softness. The opener is a beauty and the finish with a chrysantemum …wow. I could have any of these on my wall.

    1. Thank you so much, Ann-Christine, for your kind words. I love playing with light, with color, and developing abstractions. I like soft images, even mysterious images. And I really enjoy exploring new techniques, new approaches to editing photos and creating images. Your challenge this week was perfectly attuned to my interests. Thank you again.
