I’m going to do a “Flower of the Week.” Here is an old rose, also known as Sweet Briar (Rosa rubiginosa). It’s a really lovely flower, native to Europe and found throughout. Though in parts of southwest Asia (and Australia) the Sweet Briar is considered an invasive plant and/or banned. Such a shame. Sweet Briar is also the name of a women’s college in Virginia with a fascinating story.
