Flower of the Week: Clerodendrum

This week, for Flower of the Week: A late-season bloom – or what remains of it – of the Glory Flower (Clerodendrum bungei). It is also known as the Pagoda Flower, and is closely related to Bleeding Hearts. It is also known as Mexican Hydrangea, though not a hydrangea and not from Mexico. The plant is native to China. Cultivars will grow in tropical and some subtropical regions, but Clerodendrum has escaped from gardens in many areas where it now grows wild.
