Flower of the Week – Blue Iris

Flower of the Week – Blue Iris

I don’t think I have shown this image before; it’s been in the library for a while. There’s something special (to me) about blue irises. And I’m fascinated by the intricate shape of most iris flowers. While the beauty of irises is certainly apparent in a natural (i.e. unedited) image, I feel that this edited image reveals the spellbinding intricacies of the iris more imaginatively.

  1. Stunning image, Joanne.
I like your editing. Having photographed lots of irises back when I lived next to the Botanic Gardens, I can appreciate how difficult they are to photograph. I used to capture up close like you have done in this post. Alas, those shots disappeared in a computer crash.

    1. Ooh! Too bad! (About that crash) I’ve lost things as well from not saving properly. Anyway, I’m glad you like the image. Many thanks for your comment!
