Orchids have become ubiquitous year-round in the supermarkets and florist stores. But the New York Botanical Gardens‘ Orchid Show is an annual feature of spring, so in honor of the first day of spring in the northern hemisphere, here is a selection of Orchid Show orchids.

Here in the Northeast, today is cold and wet, with a foggy gloom outside my window. But the colors of these orchids swish away that gloominess and promise better days to come! Happy Spring to all!
