The One-Four Challenge was run by Robyn some years ago, and a number of us participated. The idea was to take a photo; then on four subsequent weeks, develop four different interpretations or versions of the original. The only person that I know of currently doing a One-Four series is Leanne. (If anyone else is doing a One-Four series, do let me know!) This was really a fun exercise every month, so I’d like to have at it again. Here goes!

The photo I would like to start with is Sunflowers. This image was created indoors, a close-up with direct studio lighting, and with close focus and crop. Sunflowers are bright and colorful and exuberant. Although they are cultivated from seeds, they also grow wild and are found all over in mid-late summer, in fields and roadsides. Sunflowers have long been a favorite subject in art; see Van Gogh’s Sunflowers for example. They make for extravagant photographs.
Here is a side-by-side image comparison slider.

Stay tuned! Variations show up once a week.
