Monday Monochrome – Sydney Opera House

Monday Monochrome – Sydney Opera House

From my time living in Sydney, this photo shows the sails of the famous Sydney Opera House, shot from Circular Quay. In this picture, it’s clear how the Opera House dominates the urban landscape around it, not just in terms of size or architecture, but more so (to me) by it’s striking whiteness.

  1. I really like this shot as it shows the Opera House in a different setting – most photos seem to be taken from the water or water’s edge so the building appears more isolated rather than part of a busy city.

    1. I agree. I do like shots of the Opera House from the steps of the water or whatever; it’s stunning building. But what struck me here was how the Opera House stood over this scene, even with all the busyness going on. I think there are other views which show the same thing – the Opera House as an integral part of Sydney. Thanks for commenting.
