“Forest Foliage” has a more pleasant sound to it than “Skunk Cabbage,” which is what this is. Skunk Cabbage grows in wetlands through most of North America. The leaves, particularly when bruised, emit a skunk-like odor. The plant was used medicinally by some Native American tribes, though it has little use today. Something I never knew about skunk cabbage is that it generates heat (“thermobaric”); the heat probably helps to spread the aroma. I liked the patterns on these leaves, accentuated by the dappled light.
