This week’s Lens Artists Challenge is by SH, who invites us to think about what “Quiet Hours” means, which I find to be a very thoughtful proposal.
As SH suggests, “quiet hours” can mean different things to different people. For me, some of mhy most treasured quiet hours are devoted to my photography – Whether I’m wandering abut outdoors, or photographing something posed indoors, or even when I’m busy editing. These are all mostly solitary times, when I escape into the activity. They’re personally refreshing, rewarding, and tend to shut out the rest of the world. These are my “quiet hours.”
Given a choice, I will always choose nature outdoors for my “quiet hours.”
In the woods, to come across a stream bounding down over the rocks, forming little waterfalls, instantly stimulates reflection and meditation – a true quiet time.
Or lounging in the park in summer, alongside the water and surrounded by greenery, proves refreshing quietly rejuvenating.
Discovering a truly idyllic scene on a summer morning, where the morning sky is reflected in the still, silent water, engenders feelings of tranquility combined with amazement at nature’s beauty.
What can be a better place to honor the stillness of a midsummer afternoon than a secluded garden featuring green trees, shrubs, and decorative plants?
These are just a few images representing places that I’ve photographed and that are, to me, sure to inspire calm and tranquility – Quiet Hours
Thanks to SH for a very nice Challenge. Next week’s Lens Artists Challenge will be by Egidio.
