Lens-Artist Challenge #336 – Only One Picture

Lens-Artist Challenge #336 – Only One Picture

I hope I’m not too late to join in the Lens-Artist Challenge. LEYA has posted this week’s challenge: One picture.

“One that you find important, meaningful to you, maybe sending a message – and then explain why you picked just that picture. It is not meant to be a ”favourite” picture of yours, not at all…so…”

I have chosen this image from a Grand Canyon photo trip several years ago. Why do I like this image? The image of the lone tree, apparently prospering, growing from the rock of the Grand Canyon (south rim), conveys for me a sense of courage and determination against the odds. It is winter in the photograph. The tree is rugged, healthy, determined. In most of my images from that Grand Canyon trip, the grandeur of the canyon is unmistakeable. But what’s interesting is that I seem to have been drawn (mostly) to images of singular things – a tree, a bush, a rock formation. But this one I have selected stands out.
