Friday Floral – Cymbidium Orchids

Friday Floral – Cymbidium Orchids

Having loved all types of orchids for a long while, my personal favorites are the particularly showy cymbidiums. Cymbidium orchids grow naturally in tropical and subtropical regions of Asia and Australia, but there are over 60 species along with countless cultivated hybrids available today. Growing and flowering cymbidiums can be quite demanding due to their specific care requirements. These beautiful yellow orchids were photographed indoors with professional studio lighting to highlight their stunning features.

  1. Beauties! When I lived in Southern NJ there was a club called the South Jersey Orchid Society. Members would bring their prize orchids to the meetings and sometimes they let a few lucky photographers come and take pictures of them. With all the different types it was quite interesting!

  2. You’ve put a black background to good use.
