Red Lilies

Red Lilies

These are Asiatic Lilies. The photograph was shot in the studio with artificial light.

Dahlias

Looking through past posts, I don’t think this image has been featured before, although it is currently on the front page of the site (Home).

Dahlias are a favorite of mine to photograph, especially in the extreme closeup here. I like dahlias because of their richness of color and the dense petals. In this image, the light seems to come from inside the flower.

Red Lilies

These are Asiatic Lilies and extreme closeups. I find the abstract quality of the images most interesting.

Red Tree

Red Tree

Back in the edited-watercolor-and-painterly mode of last month. I can’t say whether post-capture editing in this case creates a “new” image or an improved image or just a different image. The original tree was just as striking as this image suggests. But I do like the effect that editing produces here, particularly since it hasn’t rendered the image “unnatural.” This tree – pictured here in fall colors – is lakeside in Bruce Park in Greenwich.

From the Portfolio… Three Roses

Here is another one of my favorites from my Portfolio. Periodically (every couple of weeks or so), I feature here an image from my Portfolio.
